§ LEGAL / PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]  ·  Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]
⚠ NOT LEGAL ADVICE. This is a baseline draft to be reviewed and finalized by qualified legal counsel before publication. Bracketed items must be completed. Scope of frameworks covered: CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), and GDPR-ready structure. Audience is the United States and Canada.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how [PTM LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("PTM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit www.ptm.us (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us.

PTM is a plastic design, engineering, and manufacturing partner serving operations in the United States and Canada. For questions about this policy, contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] or [MAILING ADDRESS].

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you submit a quote request, contact form, or other inquiry, we may collect: name, work email, company, role/title, phone number, the product or use-case details you describe, expected volume and timeline, and any files you choose to upload (such as RFQ documents or CAD files).

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and timestamps. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

Analytics and advertising data. We use and/or may use the following to understand Site usage and measure marketing: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, and CallRail (phone-call tracking and attribution). These tools may collect identifiers, usage data, and—where you call a tracked number—call metadata. (Confirm which of these are actually deployed before publishing.)

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from individuals under [16/18].

3. How We Use Information

  • Respond to quotes, inquiries, and engineering requests, and to prepare proposals.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
  • Measure and optimize marketing campaigns and Site performance.
  • Communicate with you about your inquiry and, where permitted, relevant products or content.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR-ready)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract or pre-contract steps (responding to your quote/inquiry); legitimate interests (operating and improving the Site, security, B2B marketing measurement); consent (non-essential cookies and certain marketing); and legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with:

  • Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, process forms, provide analytics, and support marketing on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • Advertising/analytics partners (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, Google) in connection with the tracking technologies described above. Depending on configuration, this may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law (see Section 7).
  • Appointed marketing/outreach processors. From time to time we appoint digital marketing agencies to conduct outreach and marketing activities on our behalf. As part of these activities, personal data may be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Our appointed data processors include: Prospect Global Ltd (trading as Sopro), Reg. UK Co. 09648733; Sopro is registered with the ICO (Reg. ZA346877) and its Data Protection Officer can be reached at dpo@sopro.io. You can view Sopro's privacy policy at https://sopro.io/legal. A current list of third-party processors is available on request at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL].
  • Legal and safety recipients where required by law, to protect rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction.

International processing. PTM operates manufacturing in northeastern Mexico and engineering support in the United States. Your information may be processed in the U.S. and Mexico. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Site and, subject to your choices, analytics and marketing cookies/pixels — including cookies set by our outreach provider Sopro to attribute email-campaign visits. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, our cookie preference controls. Blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality. For the full list of cookies, their purpose, and duration, see our separate Cookie Policy.

7. Your Privacy Rights

California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may request to: know/access the personal information we collect; delete it; correct it; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, [DESCRIBE MECHANISM]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Canada (PIPEDA). You may request access to and correction of your personal information and may withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.

EU/UK (GDPR), where applicable. You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, contact [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

9. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
